Artifact: Santa’s Little Helper (Grade 2: Visualization Assignment)

The Grade 2 students at St. John Catholic Elementary School showcased their ability to use visualization as a valuable reading strategy! First, they fine-tuned their listening skills when receiving a descriptive paragraph about what Santa’s little helper looks like. Then, they developed a mental image of what he looks like by paying close attention to the descriptive words and adjectives used in the paragraph. Lastly, they brought their visualizations to life when asked to draw and colour in Santa’s missing helper.
