Hello there, welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Amy Rawlings, and I am a teacher candidate at the University of Windsor. I would like to begin my portfolio by telling you a little about myself. Prior to beginning my journey in Windsor, I spent five years at Western University where I obtained an Honours Specialization Degree in Health Sciences. At Western, I competed for the varsity women’s lacrosse team as a student-athlete, where I was fortunate enough to be named captain in my last two seasons. During my time in London, I volunteered weekly in the community as head coach of the Special Olympics, London Magic Rhythmic Gymnastics team. Summertime allows me to enjoy volunteer coaching with a local minor girls lacrosse program where I assist in introducing the game, fostering leadership skills, and instilling confidence in young athletes. I highly value these experiences working with young learners, and believe they have helped shape me into the educator I am today. My interests include lacrosse, hockey, yoga, cycling, and reading. I am passionate about travel, and appreciate every opportunity to experience and open my mind to learning about the world. Presently at the University of Windsor, I am a Primary-Junior level teaching candidate, who is specializing in early years education. This specialization has provided me with the opportunity to volunteer in various early years spaces and learn from many educators who specialize in this field. I am fortunate to study at Windsor’s Faculty of Education, and am excited to see what the future holds as a learning and growing educator.
