Promoters of Experiential and Active, Research-based Learning in Science (PEARLS) is a continuation of an earlier initiative (PEARL) in the Faculty of Science that seeks to lead curricular innovations in science teaching.
Promoters of Experiential and Active, Research-based Learning (PEARL) is an initiative of Dr. Chitra Rangan, the University of Windsor Teaching Leadership Chair (2014-2017).
PEARL is a community of practice, developing curricular initiatives that promote scholarly teaching across the Faculty of Science. This network offers opportunities for participants to discuss innovative, evidence-based models of Experiential and Active learning. Expert speakers are also invited to share their experiences in high-impact Science teaching pedagogies. PEARL also offers access to grants, and research support for members to lead the investigation of curricular initiatives that are of broad applicability to Science teaching.
