Placement Reflections, Reports, and Artifacts

Year One: Term Two

Year Two: Term Three

Lessons I taught:

Reflection I did on part of my very first math lesson (the one above)

Below are some artifacts:

This is a portion of the mural the students made to display their food trucks with. This was a excellent team building exercise and it turned out so lovely.
This is an example of a poster that one students made during our Media Literacy: Advertising unit, for the food truck he made in Visual Arts, based on healthy eating in Health.
This is their display board of their winter villages! It was surrounded by twinkling lights which added to whimsical wintery wonderland!

Placement Four

For this placement I worked with a lovely grade 1/2 teacher. This was my first experience with a split class, and although it was difficult to teach both grades, I gained so many golden nuggets! See some examples of the work and topics I covered.

In our Social Studies map lessons, we covered; the components of a map, the climate of the continents, labelling a map and creating their own map of their school based on their schema. This was done through worksheets, “Around the World” with terms, interactive map, and centers. The students were highly engaged.

In Visual Arts we practiced our cutting, and gluing skills. Students’ objective was to create a detailed vase with at least 2 different types of flowers using construction paper. The students loved this activity and all of them put in a lot of effort.
