Guest Speaker: Dr. Erika Kustra & Jessica Raffoul

PEARL Community held the year-end event on April 8th, a luncheon followed by an expert seminar which was part of the “Distinguished Speakers Series”. At the invite of Dr. Chitra Rangan, the guest speakers Dr. Erika Kustra and Jessica Raffoul, shared their knowledge and experience on the topic: “Researching and Writing About Teaching and Learning: How do you start? What is valued?”

On this interactive workshop, participants had the opportunity to experience hands-on activities. These activities helped in becoming more familiar with SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) as well as informed them regarding the various forms SoTL can take. Starting from how to formulate the perfect research question and finishing with the REB requirements one needs to take into consideration before publishing Dr. Erika Kustra and Jessica Raffoul answered the participants’ questions based on their experience and expertise.
