Guest Speaker: Dr. Francine Salinitri

salinitriIn March, Dr. Francine Salinitri of Wayne State University visited Windsor to address the PEARL community of practice. Dr. Salinitri, who is also a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Nephrology at Oakwood Hospital – Dearborn, teaches and serves as the Chair of the Problem-Based Learning committee at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She leads the implementation of a problem-based learning (PBL) four-course series, and shared with the PEARL network her experiences with PBL in sciences.

Dr. Salinitri is an alumna of University of Windsor, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education in 2001. After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University in 2003 Dr. Salinitri completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency in Nephrology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Salinitri has managed to incorporate her education in pharmacy with the broad experience in teaching, and has brought well considered benefit in both areas. Her knowledge has been disclosed in national presentations and a variety of publications related to ways in assessing problem-based learning.
