Description of Assign 4:

The themes of my 5 photos are Abroad (different countries & cultures), Military Art (on uniform), popular of a person, royal & luxury palace, culture communication and Home warmness. Therefore, the themes of my picture are mainly cultures (nations & families) and others are sub-themes. I want to use my pictures to show the harmony of different nations and the harmony and peace of the world.

My review & commentary:

In the class, I saw Dr. Ai’s work – Sunflower Seeds (in London). Actually in the life, according to the website of Wikipedia and his own official website, he is a person who can publish his opinions bravely even though he knew it would be very dangerous. He is not only a good artist, but also a brave person in politics. He use his own way to describe the daily life for people.

[I like his promissory notes & stamps. The promissory notes supposed to be a traditional promissory notes in ancient China, and the sunflower seeds in his stamps are actually the par value expressed in Chinese characters]

I chose this image because the magnificent decoration and golden colours attracted me when I first view it. I think I can use the magnificent decoration to heightlight the power of a person (although the size of the person is limited, the size of the decoration can be unlimited).

Process Description:

In order to use a different background for these four elements, I use the Paint Application of the computer to edit this picture. I use the brush, eraser and straight line (in white & black colour) to “cut” this picture out from the original picture.

[I only had less that 48 hours when I receive this assignment. Therefore, I had a rush work.]I want to use warm colours to moderate the difference between Environment, Architecture and (the first impressions of) Serious Soldiers. And, I use the beauty of environment and architecture to height the silent and unusual contribution of soldiers.
