Commitment to students and student learning

I believe that as future educators we need to consider and take into consideration our commitment towards students, in order to enhance their overall learning experience. I try to foster this by boosting students’ curiosities, by promoting opportunities for students’ voices being heard, encouraging and fostering a growth mindset vision and making sure all students can reach their full potential, paying attention to every students’ needs and differentiated instruction.

Student engagement in the classroom is key and making sure they are participating in every part of the days’ activities. This is an example of students contributing to their ideas on the board, while actively discussing a Narrative Story as part of their English course during my first practicum.

I like to make sure students have the opportunity to take in part in projects and ‘hands-on’ activities outside of class and develop theoretical skills by putting them into practice.

Below I attach en example of students’ hands – on activity, after reviewing the passé compose in French , practical decorations were made.http://uwindsor.icampus21.com/wordpress/silansortino/wp-content/uploads/sites/4855/2020/04/Silan1-2-768×1024.jpg

Providing awareness to students of the changes and structure of the curriculum expectations from their teacher. I like to provide students with the opportunity to being active in decision – making process and providing ideas to the teacher and the class.
