As a future educator, I am aware of the importance of establishing professional boundaries with students and that the conduct we reflect as people will impact our students and school environment.
I am aware of the importance of teacher – communication and making sure we understand that it is crucial to consider students’ development of the physical, emotional, social and spiritual being.
When thinking of Blooms’ Taxonomy hierarchy, I reflect upon six major categories that are important when applying activities that will be beneficial for students’ success; these are the following: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation. By applying this process, students are able to build up higher – level cognitive skills.
I would apply this within many subject areas, languages and Media Literacy. An activity I had students take part in, was analyzing Advertisements and critical thinking of Media messages, audience and purposes behind certain media advertisements. As part of the hands – on activities, has been when students needed to cut, search various newspaper magazines and articles where they were able to create and piece together the product of their learning, analyzing the 5 Key Questions of Media Literacy. I have created this Infographic, that highlights some of these important elements.http://uwindsor.icampus21.com/wordpress/silansortino/wp-content/uploads/sites/4855/2020/12/feelings_50615848-364×1024.png
