During my placement in a grade 6/7 class, I used the strategy of putting up keyword information posters while doing a novel study for each grade. Each chapter read or whenever a new character was introduced or a new location, I wrote the name on the poster. This strategy aided the students in remembering important aspects of the novel without having to search throughout the book. During the unit test I prepared, I had kept these keywords on the board to aid the students with remembering important events in the books.
