During my first placement in a grade 6/7 class, my associate teacher taught me a valuable lesson regarding mathematics content. My associate teacher had me reflect on whether we want students to memorize concepts or be able to use concepts in practical questions. This really intrigued me to assist the students with their upcoming math test. Both grade 6 and grade 7 students were working on the same unit revolving around the mean, median and mode, I wrote the definitions in our math information station. This helped students to remember their concepts and still be able to apply them to certain problems.
