During my second placement in a grade 5 classroom, I had a classroom where the majority of the students were visual learners. With the influence and support of my associate teacher, every lesson and concept I taught to the class, I would create an anchor chart. These charts stayed up in the classroom until the concept was assessed. Through student feedback, this helped students who understood the concepts to apply their knowledge during their assessments without forgetting a “step” or the term. In the future, I will continue to create a supportive learning environment for my students in any way I can.
