During my first year at the Faculty of Education, I was given the opportunity to gain knowledge and experiment with the concept of 21st-century teaching. I believe it is essential to become a 21st-century educator and to have my classroom become a 21st-century classroom. A 21st-century classroom has multiple important frameworks. A 21st-century classroom helps teach these essential skills students will need in the future to succeed. One essential part of this concept is that there be an open line of communication between myself, families and the students themselves. This will allow not only my student to feel safe and build our trust, but also build the trust between myself and their families. I have completed a sample newsletter to send to families focusing on 21st-century classroom
Candian Physical Regions Posters
During my final placement in a grade 4/5 class, I worked with the grade 4s on their Social Studies unit. I taught this unit as well as created the assessments for the unit. This assignment was one of the final assessments for the unit. After completing their poster they were also to present their information. The students were provided with what information would be required for their poster. They were also provided with the rubric prior to beginning. The students worked as partners. Overall, the students did very well in providing the required information and completing the research on their own.
