“Persistence, perseverance, and continuous improvement are the ingredients for forming a successful person.” – Debasish Mridha
Ones commitment to learning should never stop. There is always something we can do to better oneself and their craft. I am a firm believer in the term “Kaizen” which is continuous improvement. I believe in this concept and therefore even when I become an accredited educator by the Ontario College of Teachers, I know I need to keep learning and improving my craft of teaching. I do this not only for my own desire to learn but for the sake of my future students. I owe it to them to be the best version of myself possible. My growth plan is focused on three areas that I believe are needed in London Ontario and the surrounding area.
- Mathematics
- I plan to either attain an ABQ in Intermediate Math or a Math Part 1 Primary and Junior in the spring of 2021
- I plan to complete a Math Specialist in two years’ time
- I believe this will support my future students and this is an area of need.
- English Language Learners
- I plan to attain an AQ in ELL part 1 this coming summer 2021
- In my geographic area there are a lot of new Canadians that are entering the school system. I believe this AQ will help me support them better
- Literacy (Reading/Writing)
- After the summer of 2021 I plan to take at least one AQ in Reading or Writing per school year
