Ongoing Professional Learning

Below are some of the certificates I have received. They include: my QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Program completion certificate, my First Aid and CPR certificate, my Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility Workshop certificate, my Teachers for Global Awareness Social Justice Forum certificate, and my Power of Potential Conference certificate.

Professional Growth Plan:

As a professional teacher, I plan to enroll in multiple Additional Qualifications to continue my learning. The first one I plan to enroll in is an ESL AQ.

This is the certificate I received on December 1st 2017 for contributing to the Power of Potential Conference for over 300 high school students. This event helped these students better understand financial literacy, healthy active living, and the many career avenues that are available to them. I was a Master of Ceremony (speaker and creator of slideshow) for the event and assisted in the Healthy Active Living workshop. I also recruited our guest speaker to come speak on his experience to the students.
Here is the certificate I received from Teachers for Global Awareness, as a result of volunteering to help run the Social Justice Forum for High School students in Windsor/Essex County. This was such a rewarding experience, as I got to witness the passion within students for raising awareness of social justice issues in their own schools and communities, as well as some completely enlightening workshops.

This is the QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Program Certificate that I received after attending a seminar about how to help students that may dealing with suicidal thoughts and feelings. I learned how to approach someone and how to help prevent them from acting on those feelings.
This is my CPR and First Aid Certificate I received after being trained to do CPR on adults and young children. As well, I was trained to perform first aid procedures for a number of different injuries.
I received this TPSR (Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility) for participating in a workshop about different activities that we could use to get students working as a team in a variety of games and activities. This workshop took place in the gymnasium at the University and was a rewarding experience and I will certainly remember those experiences and take them into account in my future as an educator.
