Practicum #3 – Hon. W.C. Kennedy Collegiate

From November 21st-December 16th, I was placed at Hon. W.C. Kennedy Collegiate with my Associate Teacher, Ms. Kayla Lindsay. Kennedy provided me with such a wonderful learning experience, filled with passionate educators and a lively student body. My time teaching at Kennedy allowed me to put into practice my knowledge and enthusiasm for history. I was able to create dynamic, engaging, and colorful lessons that brought history alive in the classroom.

Grade 8 Day Student Council

Excited to welcome the incoming grade 8’s to Kennedy, my work with the student council brought me to organize and assist with the functions of Grade 8 day. From organizing the student council schedule to running Grade 8 activities, to face-painting for student spirit to supervising and managing their pizza lunch, I was involved in various ways.

Make & Take Student Council

During my time at Kennedy, I learned that many extra-curricular events are essential to support the student body in various ways. In a particular reoccurring event, a Make & Take, students gather to learn and conduct a dinner recipe and make their own food! Students are encouraged to make extra and take their food home. In exchange for their participation, they are provided with leftover meals throughout the week.

Talent Show

After 4 weeks of auditions, after-school rehearsals, and performance preparation, my fellow Student Teachers and I put on a memorable performance to lift the holiday spirits of the Kennedy community!

In addition to my enthusiastic performance participation, I was involved in assisting with auditions, after-school rehearsals, performance organization, and backstage management.
