Being a teacher, means you have the intention to teach and you recognize that your learning never stops. You must have a devotion to being a student of life. This devotion must be geared towards your own learning and your students’ learning. A part of that devotion is being ADAPTABLE. This includes agile lesson plans. What the heck is that? It is an adaptable lesson plan… meaning it can be adjusted to in-person learning and virtual learning.

I have seen many posts of the years, and heard many complaints about the school system. It is not the system’s fault. My goal as a teacher is to learn how best to teach my students, so they don’t feel this way after “graduating” my class. School is an institution. However, the kind souls who have dedicated their lives to learning and teaching that knowledge in adaptable authentic ways, are the reason school should be loved and not hated. Not all parts of it will be looked at with the same love, but defineltey not hatred. Learning something new is never fun 100% of the time. It is work, and it will be tiring, but SO worth it. I will support my students 100% of the time, and I refuse to give up on anyone.

“I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.” – Roald Dahl

“kids these days”- Jody Carrington

This is a fabulous book about how the world is lacking connection. Jody is a psychologist who speaks to the hearts of her readers, by imploring people (teachers, students, parents, guardians, admin staff, support staff, etc.) to be compassionate and create a culture of caring. With a little love and kindness we can change the world!
