The Digital Age has taught us many things. One of the most important things is that things are not always as they seem. Images and videos have been thoughtfully calculated and created to resemble something the viewer deems as perfection. We know that perfection is a goal construct we have created, in order to motivate people to try to reach an unattainable goal. When in reality, we need to stop striving for perfection and realize it does not actually exist. We are imperfect beings chasing a mirage. Instead, I challenge you to accept who you are, and strive to be a better you each day!
With digital media, it is hard to remember that perfection does not actually exist. If we put in the effort we can recreate what perfection means. A better you.
Check out this video on how a hamburger is filmed for a commercial. Perfection? Or calculated imperfection?
