Leadership in Learning Communities

In this letter the author describes my ability to flourish in situations where I must share the leadership role, as well as naturally taking on the leadership role when it’s needed. Both qualities hint at my excellent adaptability skills. Which is beneficial in the classroom, especially in the Primary/Junior classroom. Leadership has always come naturally to me, but I know when I am needed and when I am not. People in general need to feel a sense of agency when working their way through scenarios. It is my role as a teacher to know when a student needs a leader, and when they need someone to guide them. This ability rings true to the “Gradual Release of Responsibility” model.
