Update on Assignment

I’ve found that my concept is slowly developing itself as I work on it, which is good and bad I suppose. Good, because I keep evolving my concept and developing it further, but bad, because, again it is constantly changing. I might say one thing on here and then the next day have something completely different. I’m all over the place. I have about 10 images that I have made so far. 2 from Star trek, 2 from Doctor Who, 2 from The Twilight Zone, and 4 from The Time Tunnel. Now, I feel as if my weakest pictures are from The Time Tunnel, which is why I made extras (pick the best from the worst). I want to play with the audience and the characters inside the television (i’ll explain this better in another post late) There they are below:

Continuing with SyFy

(Just a warning this is vary much still in the works, so I apologize if it seems vague) For my concept I’ve chosen to focus on television shows between 1960 and 1969, specifically in the genre of science fiction. I’ve narrowed it down to 8 shows: The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Lost In Space, The Outer Limits, Land of the Giants, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and The Time Tunnel. I’m not quite sure how I am going to present them quite yet, so I will keep you up to date on that as the time grows shorter. What I would like to do is combine both digital and traditional forms of printmaking again, like the previous project. The digital images will be taken from the internet but altered, or completely original (I still have to work that out), and the plates will hopefully have imprints of various textures such as bubble wrap or string. I am not too sure how many plates I will have yet, but i am aiming for 4. As for the digital prints, I am aiming for 2 prints per show, making a total of 16. The concept of making a book is still vary much in my mind, however time is not on my side. A lot of this concept is vary much in the air, but I do really want to accomplish these 16 prints. Below is an image from my sketchbook:

Final Project: Coming up with a Concept

Our final printmaking project is finally coming up, a couple weeks ago we learned how to make book, and although I didn’t make the best looking book, I’m now hooked on this idea of making a book. For the longest time I wanted to combine sharks and Star Trek (I don’t know why)…..but I really wanted my book to not have a storyline, to be more of a non-sensible object.

I’ve uploaded images from my sketchbook, although they are not the best quality, they do shed a bit of light on what I was planning on doing. Again Still stuck on this idea of a book, although I have not yet figured out how I am going to do it

Experimenting with different coloured ink. I decided to go with a burgundy red colour, I originally wanted to go with a lighter colour, but after a couple of trials, I realised that not only is the white ink extremely difficult to wipe off, but i also got a  little nervous that it wouldn’t have shown up on my digital prints.
