Staff and Student Success Meetings
One of the best ways to learn and grow as a professional is through collaboration. This is why I was so grateful to be able to participate in student success meetings, as well as staff meetings throughout my 2 practicums thus far.
At St. Patrick’s High School, in the morning every 2 weeks the student success teams would meet, which included vice principals, social workers, and individuals from the ILC (Independent Learning Centre). In these meetings, they would discuss concerns with certain students, and work together to form solutions to help these students succeed.
At Gregory A Hogan Elementary, once a month, there is a staff meeting in the morning to discuss changes in policy, concerns that the principals and staff had, and what could be done to resolve some of these issues. There were also just general housekeeping items on the agenda (linked below).
