The previous three certificates of completion were completed in preparation for coaching hockey during the 2021 season including another course called ‘Gender Identity and Expression’. I wanted to share these certificates on my portfolio because I believe my time coaching has further prepared me to be a successful teacher in the classroom and progress my development by expanding the knowledge of children.
Attached above is my certificate for completion of an online training course provided by Open Learn University called “Childhood in the Digital Age”. This program covered a variety of different aspects revolving around children and their connection to digital technology. Some of the topics covered throughout this course were, how different is a digital childhood regarding how different childhood development is because of technology and how technology can affect children; the social identities in cyberspace for children which solely focuses on children’s social development; learning to think in a digital age which covers the influences of technology on childhood learning and how children may process information different with and without technology; and the future of childhood education which focuses on the future of childhood development and the impact of changes to formal schooling and education in the future years.
